New Look for 2012 Spring Management Clinic

Over the last two years this Association has been asking its members what changes should be made to the annual Spring Clinic. Based on member suggestions, we are very pleased to announce that the March 28-30 Biloxi Spring Clinic has been updated, including a new Program Schedule.
Members said they wanted a new location, first class hotel and a very low room rate.

This year’s Clinic takes us for the first time, to the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino on the very edge of Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. The beautiful Beau Rivage features 1,740 newly remodeled rooms, spacious guestrooms, complemented by all the amenities guests would expect from a AAA Four Diamond resort. Add to all this a room rate of just $99 a night. This low rate should easily fit even the tightest of budgets.

Members also told us that Saturday and Sunday should be free of meetings:

We have implemented this scheduling change! The Spring Clinic opens Wednesday, March 28 with the Supplier Section sponsored Golf Tournament at Shell Landing, one of the area’s best courses. For the non-golfers this afternoon offers the 10th Annual Trap Shoot, where a mix of suppliers, marketers and manufacturers will enjoy an afternoon outdoors interrupted only by shattering clay targets. Our Opening Reception on Wednesday evening is also sponsored by the Supplier Section and has proven to be a great way to begin.

Thursday morning starts off with several Committee meetings, followed by a General Session on Exporting to China. The Luncheon Speaker will be former House Ag Committee Chairman Larry Combest. (Congressman Combest will also be our Keynote Speaker the following day.) Thursday afternoon features the Supplier Showcase & Reception, leaving the evening free for meetings among manufacturers and their suppliers, and marketing teams.

Friday morning starts early with the noncompetitive Walk/Run Event before hearing from Keynote Speaker Larry Combest. This session is followed by several Breakout Sessions in the morning and Council and Committee meetings in the afternoon.

This new schedule and fresh location should provide attendees plenty of chances to take care of business, all while still providing the opportunity to relax on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. We have already heard from several members who are planning fishing outings either earlier in the week or over the weekend following the Spring Clinic.

Registration is now open on , where even more information on Biloxi and the meeting’s activities is posted. A Program Schedule and Registration Form are also included in this newsletter. Please give the Association a call if you have any questions about this year’s Spring Clinic.

Members traveling to the Beau Rivage Resort by air will want to look at several options which include; , located about 15 minutes away, about 60 miles from the hotel, and , approximately 99 miles away.

Next year, the Spring Clinic will return to a Midwestern location, Omaha, NE, where the weekday-only programming continues, along with a special focus on modern manufacturing from speakers, demonstrations and plant tours of local production facilities.

In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming members to the Biloxi Spring Clinic.
