The “Shortline Legends Hall of Fame,” is a platform recognizing the remarkable individuals whose innovations have significantly impacted our industry over the last 55 years.

You are cordially invited to join FEMA for the “Shortline Legends Hall of Fame,” presentation, which will take place at the upcoming Marketing & Distribution Convention in Kansas City. This event is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 1 and will be part of the General Session at 9:00 a.m.

Congratulations to the 2023 inaugural class of Farm Equipment Magazine’s “Shortline Legends Hall of Fame”

The Shortline Legends’ first honorees have already drawn comparisons to baseball’s first hall of fame class in 1936. That means the five names above are to farm equipment what Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson, Walter Johnson and Ty Cobb were to baseball.

Unfortunately, two of the inaugural class (Joseph MacDonald and Gary Vermeer) are no longer with us, but this honor will help to ensure that all are aware of what they accomplished and how they blazed the trail for today’s shortline businesses.

These individuals left an indelible mark on the industry and have also inspired countless others with their innovation, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Their contributions have played a pivotal role in shaping the machinery and dealer distribution landscape in North America.

Kinzenbaw Gift – Scholarships in Agricultural Engineering /shortliner/kinzenbaw-gift-scholarships-in-agricultural-engineering/ Wed, 22 Jun 2022 21:07:27 +0000 /?p=18206 Through a generous gift from Jon E. and Marcia A. Kinzenbaw the Iowa State University Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering has established support for students studying technical agriculture, women studying agriculture engineering and technology, and faculty research in agricultural and biosystems engineering.

Focused on supporting research and education, the Kinze Manufacturing ABE Faculty Research Fund will provide faculty in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering with resources for developing needed technology, enhancing teaching and continuing research to meet the current and future demands of the agriculture industry.

The Kinze Technical Agriculture Scholarship will help support undergraduate students majoring in agricultural engineering or agricultural systems technology who demonstrate an interest and passion for agriculture or farming. In addition, the Kinze Scholarship for Women in Agriculture Engineering and Technology will help encourage and support the education of the next generation of women in agriculture engineering and farming.

Jon Kinzenbaw said, “The consistent quality of the students, both in their knowledge and character, speaks volumes about Iowa State’s engineering program. For these reasons, and with this donation, Marcia and I are proud to continue our support of Iowa State as it educates the next generation of ag engineers and farmers.”
