DESCRIPTION:What is SubTropolis? SubTropolis was created through the mining of a 270-million-year-old limestone deposit. In the mining process, limestone is removed by the room and pillar method, leaving 25-foot square pillars that are on 65-foot centers and 40 feet apart.

SubTropolis is home to Ford’s NAVLOS facility; VAWD accredited and cGMP compliant pharmaceutical operations; currently houses over 1,400,000 SF of government, archival, and record storage tenants; is first-stop/last-stop for FedEx and UPS; and more.
Members will travel by bus to SubTropolis where we will learn more about the development and it’s history before taking a guided bus tour. There is an additional fee to attend the tour.
